The Founder

Hi. I'm Omar.
I bake every one of these.

I came to Canada not knowing how long I'd be here or what I'd build. What I found was baking. Not as a business plan. As something to hold onto. 4am in a kitchen, flour everywhere, a batch finally coming together — that's where ChewyPuff started.

I was 21. No food industry background. No investors. Just a recipe I kept refining until it was something I was genuinely proud of: a thick, handmade stuffed cookie with a gooey center, individually wrapped, made from scratch every single time.

Ottawa gave me something real. The city showed up — at markets, through orders, with every share and every message. So I built something that gives back. $0.25 from every cookie I sell goes to a local Ottawa nonprofit. That's not a marketing line. It's the reason the business exists the way it does.

ChewyPuff is still one person, one kitchen, one city. But it's growing, and every cookie is part of that.

Not a portion. Not a percentage. A flat $0.25 from every single cookie sold goes directly to a local Ottawa foundation or community organization.

Every four months, we partner with a new Ottawa nonprofit. Each partnership gets its own collaboration cookie, a flavor created specifically to tell their story. The Good Hope PB&J was the first. More are coming.

How the partnership model works:

Each cycle runs four months. We choose one Ottawa nonprofit, create a collaboration cookie for them, and donate $0.25 per cookie across all sales during that window.

At the end of each cycle, we announce the total raised, celebrate publicly, and introduce the next organization.

Shepherds of Good Hope

Shepherds of Good Hope provides emergency shelter, permanent housing, and over 150,000 meals a year to Ottawa's most vulnerable residents. They don't just serve meals. They walk alongside people through some of the hardest chapters of their lives.

This partnership felt right from day one. There's a natural connection between food and care, and everything ChewyPuff stands for maps onto what Shepherds does every single day in this city.
